Summary
Sumora is a personal finance app designed for local use. It does not require a Sumora account and does not operate a developer-controlled application server for your financial records. Financial records are stored on your device by default.
Sumora does not include advertising or analytics. Some data can leave your device only when you choose a backup, restore, sharing, or optional Google Drive backup feature, as described below.
Information Sumora handles
Financial records
You may enter fund names, optional descriptions and notes, money-in records, spending records, transfer records, amounts, and dates. Sumora stores this information in its local app database on your device so the app can calculate balances, activity, and charts.
Backup data
When you create a manual backup, Sumora creates a complete backup of your local app data and encrypts it with the password you enter. You choose the destination through your device’s share or document flow.
When you enable Google Drive automatic backup, Sumora sends a backup copy to a Sumora folder in the Google Drive account you select. This feature is optional. These Drive backups do not use a separate Sumora backup password; their availability is controlled by your Google account and Google Drive. Sumora keeps up to the seven newest automatic backup files it created.
When you restore a backup, the selected backup is read on your device. Restoring replaces the current local Sumora data after confirmation; it does not merge two data sets.
Google account information
Google Drive automatic backup uses Google Sign-In and Google Drive access only after you choose to connect. Google Sign-In may provide your email address and basic profile information to establish the connection. Sumora stores the selected email address locally so it can show which Google account is connected. It does not create a ZonLab or Sumora user account.
App settings and diagnostic logs
Sumora stores local settings such as language, date format, appearance, and backup status. It also keeps a sanitized diagnostic log locally for troubleshooting. A diagnostic log is shared only if you explicitly choose the app’s export/share action.
How information is used
The information above is used only to provide Sumora’s finance tracking, backup, restore, and troubleshooting features. ZonLab does not sell your information, serve ads, or use your financial records for advertising or analytics.
When information is shared or transmitted
Sumora has no developer-operated server that receives your financial records. Information is transmitted outside the app only in these user-directed situations:
- You save or share a manual backup through your device’s native share or document flow.
- You opt in to Google Drive automatic backup or choose a Drive backup to restore.
- You choose to share a diagnostic log.
Google Sign-In and Google Drive are Google services and are governed by Google’s applicable terms and privacy policies. Manual backups are sent only to the destination you select. ZonLab does not receive a copy merely because you create a backup.
Retention and deletion
Local financial records remain on your device until you delete the relevant records or funds in the app, or use Settings > Delete all data. That in-app action requires two confirmations and a 10-second countdown before it permanently clears all Sumora data stored on the device, including financial records, settings, local Google Drive connection details, and diagnostic logs. It cannot be undone. Removing or clearing the app’s local data with your device has the same local effect; uninstalling the app removes its local data from that device, subject to your device platform’s behavior.
The in-app full reset does not delete manual backup files you previously saved or Google Drive backup files already in your Google account. Delete those files separately from their storage location if you no longer want to retain them.
You control the retention of manual backup files at the location you selected. For Google Drive automatic backup, Sumora retains only the seven newest automatic files that it created. If you disconnect Google Drive, Sumora clears its local connection and stops new automatic backups; it does not delete backup files already in your Google Drive. You can delete those files directly from Google Drive.
Because ZonLab does not hold a server-side Sumora account or a central copy of your financial data, there is no ZonLab account data to request for deletion.
Security
Manual backup files are encrypted with the password you choose before they leave the app. Google Drive automatic backups use the Google Drive connection you authorize and are transmitted to Google Drive over a secure network connection. Do not lose your manual backup password: Sumora cannot recover it for you.
No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Keep your device, Google account, backup destination, and backup password secure.
Children
Sumora is not directed to children. Do not use Sumora to submit another person’s personal information without appropriate authority.
Changes to this policy
If Sumora’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before or when the relevant app update is released. Material changes will be reflected by a revised date at the top of this page.
